Murals and public works bring my art into shared spaces, transforming walls and environments through large scale imagery, color and storytelling. Created for businesses, community spaces, spiritual centers and private clients, these works draw upon local history, culture, nature and spirituality while responding to the character and purpose of each location.

Garden of Eden

Detroit Abloom Community Garden, Detroit, Michigan
Commissioned for Detroit Abloom, an urban flower farm and community space on Detroit’s east side. The mural reimagines the Garden of Eden as an exuberant meeting place of spiritual traditions, nature and the cosmic unknown. Krishna presides over the garden while a goddess Eve and a mystical wizard Adam inhabit a landscape filled with flowers, animals, celestial imagery and a UFO. A waterfall running through the center connects the different realms of the composition, while the crescent and star introduce another layer of interfaith symbolism.
Created in collaboration with Detroit Abloom, the mural reflects the garden itself as a place where cultivation, community, spirituality, and imagination come together.

Southeast Michigan History Mural

Commissioned work
Created for the lobby of Plaza Antiques & Collectibles, this mural explores the history and cultural identity of Southeast Michigan. Rosa Parks anchors the composition, surrounded by Chief Pontiac, MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer, Henry Ford and Joe Louis. The surrounding imagery references the B-24 Liberators produced at Willow Run during World War II, Detroit’s Renaissance Center, the Seven Sisters smokestacks and Michigan Central Station. The wheat-sheaf motif was adapted from a wartime Ford Flour bag from the 1940s. The composition and subject matter were developed in collaboration with Plaza owner Keith Hays.

Golden Lotus Yoga Teachers Association Mural

Commissioned by a member of the Golden Lotus Yoga Teachers Association (GLYTA), a yoga school founded by Yogacharya Oliver Black in 1976 with roots in Detroit’s yoga tradition. I originally designed the modern GLYTA logo, combining imagery associated with the ajna (third-eye) chakra, anahata (heart) chakra, and the spiritual eye. This mural translates that original design into a large-scale architectural setting.

Song of the Morning, Vanderbilt, Michigan
Created for Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat in Vanderbilt, Michigan, Spiritual Eye is a large scale mixed media work representing the spiritual eye, a symbol of expanded consciousness and inner perception within the yogic tradition. Constructed from layered wood, painted by hand and sealed beneath epoxy resin, the dimensional central lotus and star emerge from a deep field of blue and gold. Surrounding the composition are words from the ancient Pavamana Mantra of the Upanishads.

Private commission
Commissioned by a private client for installation for the organic community garden at Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat. The central image depicts the blue lotus feet of the Divine Mother holding a lotus blossom, surrounded by a mandala-inspired design. Encircling the image are words from an old Bengali devotional song translated into English by Paramahansa Yogananda. The work was created as a devotional marker for the entrance to the garden.

Rastafari Global heART Project
Created for the UK-based Rastafari Global heART Project, an international project bringing together Rastafari-inspired works by artists from around the world. The mural portrays Haile Selassie I during his years as Ras Tafari Makonnen, prior to his coronation as Emperor of Ethiopia in 1930. Painted in fluorescent, UV-reactive colors, the work transforms under ultraviolet light.

The mural portrays Minnie Riperton and Stevie Wonder (Perfecr Angels) and was part of a series of works created for the home, including murals of Miles Davis and a canvas painting of Al Jarreau.

Commissioned for a private residence in Pontiac, Michigan. The mural depicts Miles Davis in a high-contrast, gestural style, using loose brushwork, drips and splattered paint to echo the energy and improvisational character of jazz.

Shine Y Rocks, Mackinaw City, Michigan
Commissioned for Shine Y Rocks, a metaphysical shop in Mackinaw City, Michigan. The mural was designed specifically for an area displaying fluorescent rocks and minerals illuminated by ultraviolet light. Using UV-reactive pigments, the fantastical composition of dragons, mushrooms, crystals and flames transforms under blacklight, integrating the artwork with the surrounding mineral display.

Commissioned for the lobby of Earthbound Remedies in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The mural depicts a stylized nocturnal journey from a wooded park into downtown Ann Arbor, ending along Liberty Street. Painted with UV-reactive pigments, the landscape, architecture and celestial imagery illuminate under black light, transforming the lobby into an immersive environment.

Yogananda Black Light Mural

Created for a private meditation room, this mural depicts a young Paramahansa Yogananda, known in his youth as Mukunda Lal Ghosh. Painted with UV-reactive pigments, the portrait and radiating composition transform under black light, giving the work a luminous quality intended to complement the contemplative space.

Dakshineswar Kali Temple Black Light Mural

Created for a private meditation room, this mural depicts the historic Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata, India, a site closely associated with the 19th-century spiritual teacher Sri Ramakrishna. Painted with UV-reactive pigments, the temple architecture, sky and surrounding landscape become intensely luminous under black light, transforming the sacred architecture into a vivid, immersive devotional image.

Welcome to Manzanillo

Manzanillo, Costa Rica
Commissioned by Don Maxi for Maxi’s Restaurant in the Caribbean coastal village of Manzanillo, Costa Rica. The mural celebrates the area’s Afro-Caribbean identity and international character through portraits of Haile Selassie I, Marcus Garvey, and Bob Marley, surrounded by national flags and imagery of the Caribbean landscape. A crowned Lion of Judah anchors the composition above a view of Manzanillo’s tropical coastline.
